1. Scope and operator
This policy covers personal data on Readeep’s reader website processed by the operating entity/individual listed below. Google and external services have their own policies. If you use Writer Studio, its Privacy policy also explains writing, reference and AI activities.
2. Account and supplied data
Google sign-in provides necessary information such as Google identifiers, email, display name and avatar to create/link your account and session. Reader and Studio may share accounts, roles and sessions. Readeep does not request your Google password.
Supplied data includes saved stories, reading status, followed authors, ratings/reviews, review reports, support requests and complaint evidence. Do not put sensitive data or others’ information in public submissions without a lawful basis.
3. Reading data and statistics
When signed in, your current chapter and progress may be stored against your account for device synchronization, shelf display, personal statistics, recommendations and new-chapter updates. Guest reading avoids these account-based synchronization features.
Even for guests, opening a chapter makes the server issue a signed read ticket recording when it was opened; the reader sends it back with the progress percentage to qualify a read. Reads are tied to a hash of your account (when signed in) or of the guest cookie, plus a daily-salted hash of your network range (IP addresses are not stored), to limit duplicate counting and detect inflated reads. Raw reads are kept for about 35 days, after which only daily totals remain; reads by the author's own team are not counted. Hashing does not mean data is absolutely anonymous. Operational logs may include IP, browser information, paths and technical errors.
4. Purposes and legal bases
Readeep uses data for authentication, sessions, shelf/progress/follows, displaying and managing reviews, read counts and rankings, recommendations, abuse prevention, complaints, support, security and legal duties.
Each activity must have an appropriate legal basis. Where consent is required, Readeep must provide information and obtain valid consent for that purpose. Reading this policy or accepting terms is not blanket consent for advertising, AI training or every new processing purpose.
5. Public data and recipients
Story reviews are public with your display name, rating, text and submission time; others can read or retain them. Sign-in email, personal shelf and progress are not published as reviews are. Aggregates such as read counts, follower counts and ratings may appear on story, author or ranking pages.
Authorized personnel process data as needed for operations, support or moderation. Authentication, infrastructure, storage and backup providers may receive data necessary for their services. Reports/evidence are not automatically public; necessary information is shared with parties or authorities only on an appropriate legal basis.
Providers may process data abroad. Readeep must determine recipients, scope, safeguards and applicable transfer procedures beforehand. Reading on Reader does not itself license Readeep to use reading data or reviews to train general-purpose AI models.
7. Retention and security
Retention depends on service purposes, account status and legal duties. Communications, reported reviews and dispute evidence may be retained with restricted access to resolve cases. Data must be deleted or appropriately anonymized when no retention basis remains; backups may follow a separate processing cycle.
Readeep applies appropriate access controls, session protection and backup management without guaranteeing absolute security. Protect devices and your Google account, and sign out on shared devices. Removing a review from Readeep does not guarantee immediate removal of copies held by search engines or others.
8. Your rights and requests
Subject to applicable legal conditions, you may be informed, access, correct, request provision/deletion/restriction, object, withdraw consent, complain or seek compensation. Email the contact below and specify the account, reading history/progress, review or other data concerned.
Readeep may verify identity proportionately and responds within statutory deadlines. It must explain limitations based on legal exceptions, evidence duties or others’ rights. Withdrawal does not invalidate earlier lawful processing but may prevent dependent features. Unsaving/unfollowing does not erase all reading history.
9. Children and policy changes
Processing children’s data must satisfy applicable age, representation and consent requirements. Do not provide children’s or others’ data without a lawful basis. Parents/guardians may contact Readeep about children’s data and may need to verify their capacity.
Readeep publishes updated versions, notifies material changes and obtains new consent before new purposes where required. This policy does not remove Readeep’s data protection duties.

Send support requests, copyright notices or personal data requests to the contact below. Identify the request and relevant account or URL. Supply only necessary evidence and redact unrelated sensitive information.
